Six months from now on November 18, 2016 Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon will be released. With the release of the seventh generation in the Pokémon franchise the will be more Pokémon to collect, battle, and trade. As it stands today there are 721 Pokémon across all versions of the main line series. Which makes catching them all a more daunting task then it was twenty years ago with the release of Pokémon Red and Green in Japan.
I have been playing Pokémon games since I bought a GameBoy Color and Pokémon Red. However, I have never been able to catch every Pokémon in the Pokedex. Which leads me to the goal of this series of posts, videos, and even the existence of this website.
For every week until November 18th I will be posting articles and videos about my progress towards collecting all 721 Pokémon. On Wednesdays I will post general posts about my progress towards my completion of the task. Then on Sundays I will post videos talking about my progress and my methods towards completing the goal. I will also be adding in extra articles showing off my physical Pokémon collection to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Pokémon as a franchise.
So for now I will end this first post about my Pokémon Quest with a few guidelines I have laid out for myself. First off, my progress will be based off the National Pokedex in Pokémon X. All other Pokémon that caught in other games and generations, such as Soul Silver or Leaf Green, will not count until those Pokémon are on the X cart. The other guideline is that I will not be consider to be complete until I receive the diploma in the game. I will end this post with a picture with the cover Legendary from Pokémon X Xerneas.
