This week I finally completed all of Soul Silver and I obtained all the Pokémon I need to transfer from that game. I obtained 6 Pokémon this week, 4 of them through transferring from Soul Silver and 2 from evolution in X. Now I have obtained every Pokémon from Generations 2 and 3.

The 4 Pokémon I transferred from Soul Silver to X were Unown, Groudon, Treecko, and Ho-oh. Just like last week, the process of moving these Pokémon from Soul Silver to X involved moving them to Black first via a mini-game. Then the Pokémon with through the Poke Transporter and the Pokémon Bank to move into X. Ho-oh is the cover Pokémon for this post for many reasons. It was a hard Pokémon to catch in Soul Silver, it was a valuable party member in beating the Elite 4 and Red in Soul Silver, and it is the cover Pokémon for Heart Gold the other version of Soul Silver. The last reason is important because it is rare to be able to catch both cover Pokémon in one game. I decided to obtain Unown because I was having bad luck obtaining an Unown in Alpha Sapphire. My next two Pokémon came from after I beat Red and obtained a Gen 1 starter from Professor Oak, I chose Charmander.

I captured Groudon, after obtaining the Red Orb from Mr. Pokémon, through multiple battles resulting in using a Heavy Ball that was created through apricots in Soul Silver. Finally, Treecko was obtained from Steven Stone in the Silph Co. building in Saffron City. After transferring all of these Pokémon into Pokémon X, I would level up Treekcko so it could evolve twice.

In X, Treecko evolved into Grovyle at level 16. Then at level 36 Grovyle evolved into Sceptile. This will the last of the Grass type starters that needed to evolve. In fact, there is only one more starter Pokémon that still needs to evolve in X. That Pokémon is Chimchar, and it is from Pokémon Diamond.

Now my final push is to beat the Elite 4 in Diamond. That way I obtain the National Dex and either trade for a Ditto from Soul Silver, or catch on in a part of Diamond that is currently blocked. Hopefully with enough grinding next week I will beat Diamond’s Elite 4. Until next time, the PokeQuest continues.
